Description

Most of us have struggled with tapping small holes. The biggest key to being successful, seems to be able to start your tap squarely into the hole and then be able to keep the tap square to the hole while performing the tapping process. Just the slightest bit of improper angle and snap.. There goes another $20 tap!!!! So, we decided to start making these ..

We machine the bodies and turning knob, from billet aluminum, and press in a bronze bushing for the 303 stainless shaft to turn on. The shaft is reamed to accept a tap with a 9/64 shank. We use OSG taps and they all have 7/64 shanks from 00-80 thru 6-40. The tap is held in place with 2- set screws so that you can easily  change out from one size tap to another…
